However, the problem I have found is that I LOVE to give cards. It's just a little something easy to do to let someone know you are thinking of them. If it's a Thank You card, or a Thinking of You card, it's always nice to let someone know you care.
As far as Birthday cards go, I always have grand plans to get them sent out in plenty of time, but that doesn't always happen either. (Sorry for the belated birthday wishes Tim and Tina!)
But, I think I might have come up with a plan.
I purchased 100 birthday postcards from Vistaprint for a very good price. They were actually free. (I never received the first batch and when I called the company, they sent a new batch out and credited my account. Gotta love when that happens!) Even the original price was cheap....the postcards were free and I only had to pay shipping...which was only $6.50.
Yes, $6.50 for 100 postcards. Now I can handle that!
Even though the postcards are all the same, there is plenty of room to write a personal message on them, and to me....that's what really matters.
I even hand delivered the first one last night to a friend who has a birthday today! (Happy Birthday Marci)
Now, I just have to go through my birthday calendar and make some labels for the postcards. Let the fun begin! (yes, I'm a dork...I know!)
So there you have it. My thrifty solution for the oh-so-expensive birthday card.
