Finally...the table!

See, it's nothing fancy...but I really like it!

I'm officially now a professional table-and-chair-put-together-er! And can be hired out for the right price.

Happy Monday!

Baby got back....

Splash...

Nope this isn't another controversial Burger King commercial with the Sir Mix-A-Lot song...

Andy and his dad spent the weekend getting our kitchen back splash up! It looks great!

FYI, when they do a kitchen back splash on those HGTV shows in about 3 hours...I'm sure that it all falls down by the next day. It took these two very intelligent, it has to be perfect, without any mistakes, guys the entire weekend. I'm sure it didn't help that I wanted the tile placed on the diagonal. But it looks awesome! Glad it wasn't super nice outside! We still have to grout, seal and get the microwave back up...but I can see the end of this kitchen redo in sight people...it is a wonderful thing I tell ya...absolutely wonderful!

A great big "thank you" goes out to our Papa! We couldn't have done it without you! Thanks!

Let's hear it for the boy(s)!

**Warning to all you grammar gurus out there....the placement of parentheses in this post may not be proper (but it's so fun)...continue reading at your own risk!**

Last night I said a heartfelt goodbye to the ugly Betty (if your name is Betty, please don't take this personally) that has lived in my kitchen for the last four years (well, it'll be four years in May!) The gross, nasty, hard-water (although Pauly says we have soft water here in the pumpkin capital of the world) stained, stainless-steel sink in my kitchen is gone and the new beauty is in.

This wasn't an easy task. And as much as I love the hubster and as strong as he is, I knew he couldn't do this job alone. When I spoke to him yesterday around lunch time, I kindly offered my assistance. I offered to phone a few friends to ask for help. (Why do guys have a problem with this? I just don't get it....Oh, well maybe I do understand a little...I have had a hard time asking others for help over the past month as well...maybe it's a little like that!) Anyway, he finally said that he would call a few guys to see if they could help. (a little nagging from the wife always helps, right?!?) Apparently, he was working and got busy (we are very blessed that he is in fact still working!) and wasn't able to ask for that help until at church last night. When he asked a few guys...of course they were right there and willing. One of our faithful friends, was even willing to drive 20 miles back to our town, after he helped get his girls down for bed. (that's 20 miles, in the snow, driving barefoot!....oh, just kidding, we don't have any snow!)

Sorry, I'm getting sidetracked with all this punctuation. Anyway, Pauly came over and started his handy work and the kitchen went from looking like this:

To looking like this:

We needed more than four strong manly hands (obviously, I don't count...I did go to the gym yesterday, just for the record!) and so we called upon Mike T. He was literally at the door when I got the phone hung back on the wall. He was Super Mike...able to reach friends in lightening fast speed...(or something like that!) With Mike's super hero hands and the rest of the strong studs, we (they) were able to get the counter top and sink it! They are my helpful heroes!

Even though the sink isn't hooked up, and I won't be able to do my dishes today (I know, it's hard to believe.. ..and it's going to mess up my entire day! I'm actually going to have to put dirty dishes in the dishwasher...omg!) I will survive. We will be getting Culverized for dinner and then hopefully get it all hooked up tonight! That is the (my) plan anyway!

So a great big "Thank You" to my boys! We really couldn't have done it without you! So would you like dinner out or a visit to the man mall? (you know I really like the help out the Methodist Men?) The plain ol' green stuff works too...your choice! Let me know!

And to you, my strong and handsome hubby...you won't be left out in the "reward" category...you get ME...the best reward ever!
